The Southern Brown, or Ewings, Tree Frog is the most commonly found climbing frog of flooded grasslands and paddocks. It is the frog that is most likely to be found in gardens. It feeds on insects, which it sometimes catches in midair while jumping. Eggs and tadpoles can be found in puddles on roads and the still water of dams and creeks. It can breed all year round. Its colouring varies from cream to light brown to green. A breeding male has a brown vocal sac.

Call: ‘creeeeee creee creee - cree cree cree’ like a cricket (heard most of the year)
